Who is Zeus? Birth Story

The most important and most famous God is the God Zeus https://whoiszeus.ca/. In ancient Greek mythology he ruled over all people and all gods. There are different versions of his birth. But the main one is that his father is Kronos and his mother is Rhea. Zeus's mother saved him from destruction. Cronus was once foretold that he would be deprived of power by his own son. Mad, Cronus decided to swallow all the children his wife bore him. No amount of persuasion from Rhea worked. Then Rhea decided to save the last one, Zeus. She decided to run away pregnant with him to the island of Crete. Rhea hid in one of the caves. And so Zeus was born. From a young age it was obvious that he was strong and clever. Rhea returned to Cronus, and Zeus was brought up by a nymph. The sacred goats fed him with their milk. The Cretan guards knocked on their shields when Zeus cried so that Cronus would not hear him. Thus Zeus grew and matured. He resolved at all costs to save his brothers and sisters who had been swallowed by Cronus. Later on, he had to fight a long war with his father and the titans.

The story of Zeus' rise to power

Before ruling the world, Zeus had to go through a lot. His war with the Titans lasted a long ten years. When he grew up, he went to save his brothers and sisters who had been swallowed by his father. With the help of his first wife Metis, Zeus prepared a special potion. After drinking it, Cronus regurgitated all the children he had eaten. They came out of him as adults. After this, a long war between the gods and the titans began. The one-eyed Cyclops and the hundred-armed giants helped Cronus in his fight against the titans. After a long confrontation, the titans were defeated and sent to Tartarus. Zeus' brothers and sisters then began to share power over the world. Since Zeus was able to free the future gods from Kronos, he got the rule of heaven. Poysedon became the ruler of the sea, and Hades began to rule the underworld. This is how Zeus came to power. He was feared and respected. He was strict, but just. He punished him severely for all his faults. Zeus lived with all the gods on Mount Olympus. Beside his palace stood two vessels. In one of them were gifts of good, and in the other, gifts of evil. Depending on what people did, he sent good or evil to the earth. Despite his greatness, Zeus was tried to be overthrown. The Wives and Lovers of Zeus

According to Greek mythology, Zeus was a true hero-lover. He had many wives and many mistresses, which gave birth to many children. Zeus was officially married three times. His first wife was Metida. She was notable for her sharp wit and quick wit. It was she who helped Zeus to prepare the potion that made Cronus burp the swallowed children. But Metida was to suffer a sad fate. Zeus was foretold that Metida would give birth to a child who would dethrone Zeus. Zeus then decided to turn Metida into a fly and swallow her. Metida planted a seed in Zeus' head, from which Athena, the goddess of war, grew. Zeus suffered from severe headaches, so he decided to split her, which gave birth to Athena. The next wife of Zeus was Themis. She was the goddess of justice and the daughter of Gaia and Uranus. She won Zeus over with her cleverness and desire for order. Zeus and Themis had three daughters: the goddesses of the seasons, Ora. They were responsible for order in nature. They served at the gates of Olympus.

The next official wife of Zeus was Hera. The myths of ancient Greece describe a great deal about their union. Hera was the sister of the Thunderer. She was also swallowed by Cronus. Hera was of a willful nature. She was scandalous and jealous. Hera did not want to put up with her husband's love affairs, so she put the mistresses and the illegitimate children of Zeus to the test.

Hera and Zeus were born:

• Hephaestus: God of fire and blacksmithing. He was born ugly, so Hera decided to throw him off a cliff. However, he was rescued and began to be raised by Nereis, Thetis, and Eurynome. When Hephaestus grew up, he began making lightning bolts for Zeus and was the best blacksmith in all the world.
